What are the referral terms?
Standard broker-to-broker referral fee: 25% of the receiving side's gross commission, paid at closing under a written referral agreement between brokerages. 25% is the customary rate across the industry and within eXp's own network — nothing exotic, nothing to negotiate from scratch. All fees are broker-to-broker between licensed brokerages only.
I'm an eXp agent — is this easier for me?
Yes. Inside eXp, the Global Agent Referral Platform generates the standard state-compliant referral agreement and routes it for eSignature in minutes; the executed agreement files in SkySlope and the fee pays brokerage-to-brokerage by direct deposit at closing — you never invoice or chase. Referral Division members (referral-only licensees) are welcome the same way. Outside eXp, we paper the same standard agreement with your brokerage.
How fast will my client be contacted?
A named COAST brokered by eXp Realty agent — matched to your client's price band and community interest — responds within 4 business hours of your referral. You are copied on the introduction.
Will you keep me in the loop?
Yes. You receive the introduction, a confirmation when representation begins, and a closing notification with the referral disbursement handled by the closing attorney per the referral agreement.
Do you poach referred relationships?
No. Your client remains your relationship. Future business from a referred client in YOUR market goes back to you, and we refer outbound the same way — our own books show dozens of outbound referrals across a dozen states.
Which price bands and communities do you cover?
Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and the Lowcountry — from coastal villas to record-setting oceanfront estates. Each agent's verifiable production and community coverage is published in their diligence dossier at https://mycoastbrokeredbyexp.com/for-advisors/.
Is this RESPA-compliant?
Yes. Referral fees are paid only between licensed real estate brokerages under written agreements — never to unlicensed parties. Professional advisors (CPAs, attorneys, wealth managers) are never compensated for introductions; see the for-advisors page for how we coordinate with your client’s advisory team.
